Sea Pines Plantation is the premiere gated community on Hilton Head Island. This resort allows protected access to those who appreciate eco friendly features. Beauty created by preserving the environment as envisioned by developer, Charles Fraser, is evident in all outdoor activities in the Plantation. Buildings are designed to blend in with their natural surroundings. As a native of Beaufort (Hilton Head Island is in Beaufort County) I have seen many changes in the area, and appreciate the efforts to maintain the natural esthetics at Sea Pines.
Our vacation home at Inland Harbour is located in the heart of Sea Pines Plantation. It is within easy walking distance (.5 miles) of Harbour Town with it's signature red candy strip lighthouse. Sea Pines is home of the Heritage PGA Golf Tournament played each April on world famous Harbourtown Golf Links. Vacationers have quick and easy access to the beach on the Atlantic Ocean. It is only a mile to the new Sea Pines Beach Club. There is a scenic bike trail system throughout the Plantation as well as the whole island that is our family's personal favorite mode of transportation. Seasonally, the SPP Trolley that stops across the street at the Sea Pines Center, is a fun way to get around within the Plantation. Also, within the resort are unique shops, gourmet restaurants, picnic spots and good tennis.
Sea Pines features a 605 acre forest preserve open year round for your hiking pleasure. The Audubon Society has designated it Important Birding Area in South Carolina. The Preserve is owned by the property owners of the Plantation. We are assured that scenic wildlife habitats will be preserved in perpetuity for the enjoyment of all who visit.
There truely is something for everyone in Sea Pines Plantation. The resort is a great location for family reunions and group vacations. There is a wonderful children's playground and shopping in Harbour Town. The circular marina at Harbour Town and South Beach marina are popular with boaters. Couples find the island is a romantic place for destination weddings and honeymoons. (We were married on the island in 1983 and can highly recommend it.) Nature lovers and artists find lots of subject matter. The plantation is dog friendly. Golf and tennis groups enjoy coming for the obvious reasons. And, who does not love a leisurely walk or jog on the beach along the sandy beach on the Atlantic Ocean?
